Which Shopify plans does QuoteLock work on?
Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus. Checkout protection runs on Shopify Functions, which Shopify makes available on every plan for apps from the Shopify App Store. Every feature works the same on every plan.
Do I need Shopify Plus or checkout extensibility?
No. Shopify Plus is only required for custom-built apps that use Functions. QuoteLock is an App Store app, so stores on Basic, Grow and Advanced get the same checkout protection as Plus stores.
What about the Starter plan?
Starter doesn't include an online store theme, so there's no product page for QuoteLock to turn into a quote request. You'll need Basic or above.
Does it work with my theme?
QuoteLock works through a theme app embed, so it works with Dawn and other free Shopify themes, and with most paid themes, without editing theme code. If a theme puts prices or buy buttons somewhere unusual, you can add extra selectors in the app embed settings.
How much does it cost?
One plan at $29.99 a month with everything unlimited, after a 3-day free trial. It's billed through your regular Shopify invoice, and uninstalling cancels it.
Can shoppers get around the lock?
No. The check runs in a Shopify Function on Shopify's servers at checkout, so hiding a button or editing the page doesn't help. Cart links, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal are all covered.
Are prices hidden everywhere?
QuoteLock hides prices in your online store theme. Other sales channels and product feeds (such as the Shop app, Google, social channels, marketplaces or POS) may still show Shopify prices unless you remove locked products from those channels or set them to Unlisted, which QuoteLock can do for you, or turn on Price privacy.
What does Price privacy do?
With Price privacy on, QuoteLock stores the real price of quote-only variants and sets their Shopify price to 0 so it isn't published anywhere. Checkout never sells these items at 0, and quotes always use the real price. Turn Price privacy off before uninstalling to restore prices.
Will my staff's draft orders and estimates be blocked?
No. Draft orders created by your staff or your own systems are approved automatically, so invoices, estimates and completing drafts in the admin keep working.
How does a customer pay for an approved quote?
When you approve, QuoteLock creates a Shopify draft order at your prices and emails the customer a checkout link. Only that customer's link gets the locked items through checkout.
Can trade customers skip quotes?
Yes. Tag approved customers with an exempt tag and they check out normally when signed in. You can also create approval codes for a specific cart.
Will the button match my theme?
By default it copies your theme's own Add to Cart button: font, colors, corners and size. You can switch to custom styling on the Appearance page. The QuoteLock app embed needs to be on in your theme editor.
What data does QuoteLock keep?
Quote requests (contact details and requested products), your store settings and Shopify sessions. Closed quotes are deleted automatically. Details are in the privacy policy.
