Terms of service

These terms cover your use of QuoteLock. They're written to be read. If anything is unclear, email us before you rely on it.

Effective October 28, 2026

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you, the Shopify merchant who installs QuoteLock ("you"), and 920Four ("we", "us"), which provides QuoteLock. By installing or using QuoteLock you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use QuoteLock for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.

The service

QuoteLock is a Shopify app that lets you mark products as quote-only, replaces their storefront price and Add to Cart button with a quote request, blocks them at checkout through a Shopify Function, and turns approved quotes into Shopify draft orders with a private checkout link. It also offers quantity breaks, approvals, sales-channel controls and optional Price privacy.

QuoteLock hides prices in your online store theme. Other sales channels and product feeds may still show Shopify prices unless you remove locked products from those channels, set them to Unlisted, or turn on Price privacy. You're responsible for choosing the settings that fit your store.

Your store and account

QuoteLock works through your Shopify store and the permissions you approve when installing it. Keep your Shopify account secure; anyone with access to your Shopify admin can change QuoteLock's settings and approve quotes.

Your responsibilities

  • Check your setup: which products are locked, the prices you quote, and how your store looks to shoppers. Test a locked product before relying on it.
  • Be clear with your customers about quoting, pricing, taxes, shipping, refunds and delivery. Your sales contracts are between you and your customers.
  • Have a lawful basis and a privacy notice for the shopper data you collect through quote requests, and handle customer privacy requests.
  • If you use Price privacy, turn it off before uninstalling so QuoteLock can restore your products' real prices.

Acceptable use

Don't use QuoteLock to:

  • break the law or Shopify's terms and policies;
  • collect data you aren't allowed to collect, or send spam;
  • probe, overload or interfere with the service, or try to access other merchants' data;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer QuoteLock except where the law allows it.

Fees

Any fees for QuoteLock are shown on its Shopify App Store listing and billed through Shopify. If we introduce or change fees, we'll tell you in advance, and paid plans only start once you approve them in Shopify. Refunds follow Shopify's billing rules unless the law requires otherwise.

Data and privacy

Your store's data stays yours. You let us process it only to provide, secure and support QuoteLock, as described in the privacy policy. For shopper data in quote requests, you are the controller and we process it on your behalf and on your instructions.

Intellectual property

We own QuoteLock, including its software, design and documentation. While you use it, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use QuoteLock for your Shopify stores. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

Shopify and third parties

QuoteLock depends on Shopify and on hosting providers. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we aren't responsible for their outages, changes or decisions, including changes to Shopify's APIs, checkout or themes that affect how QuoteLock works. QuoteLock isn't made or endorsed by Shopify.

Availability and changes

We work to keep QuoteLock running and secure, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what QuoteLock does for you, we'll give reasonable notice where we can. We may update these terms; we'll change the effective date and, for material changes, notify you before they take effect. Continuing to use QuoteLock means you accept the updated terms.

Uninstalling and termination

You can stop using QuoteLock at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if required by law or by Shopify, or if we stop offering QuoteLock, with notice where reasonable. After uninstalling, your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and limits of liability) continue to apply.

Disclaimer

QuoteLock is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. QuoteLock is a tool to help you control checkout; you remain responsible for your prices, products, orders and customer communications.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, sales or data. Our total liability for any claim about QuoteLock is limited to the greater of the fees you paid for QuoteLock in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs from third-party claims arising from your store, your products, your dealings with your customers, or your breach of these terms.

General

These terms, with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement about QuoteLock. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganisation or sale of the business. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
