We aim to reply within two business days, usually sooner. Checkout problems on a live store get priority.

To help us help you quickly, include:

  • your store's .myshopify.com address;
  • a link to the product or page involved;
  • what you expected, what happened, and a screenshot if you can.

Set up QuoteLock

After installing, QuoteLock opens a guided setup with a live checklist. The steps are:

  1. Choose your lock tag. Products with this tag are quote-only. The default is quotelock-locked, or use a tag you already have.
  2. Turn on checkout protection (Settings → Checkout protection → Block checkout for locked products).
  3. Turn on the QuoteLock app embed in your theme editor (Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds). The guide has a button that opens the right place.
  4. Lock products on the Products page: search, filter, select and lock, lock whole collections, or paste product links.
  5. Check the Appearance page. The Add to Quote button copies your theme's style by default; the live preview shows how it looks.
  6. Test it. Open a locked product on your storefront: the price reads "Price on request" and the button reads Add to Quote. Then open /cart/<variant id>:1 for that product and try to check out; it should be blocked with your checkout message.

Optional: set up exempt customer tags or approval codes (Approvals), quantity breaks (add the Quantity breaks block to your product template), and sales-channel controls.

Quote button not showing

  • App embed off. In the theme editor, open App embeds and turn on QuoteLock, then save. App embeds are set per theme: if you publish a different theme, turn it on there too.
  • Product not locked. Check the product has one of your lock tags (Settings → Lock tags) or lock it from the Products page.
  • Cached page. Reload the product page with a hard refresh or in a private window.
  • Heavily customised theme. If your theme uses a custom product form, email us the product link and we'll take a look.

Price still showing

  • Make sure the app embed is on and the product is locked (see above). With "Hide prices" on, QuoteLock shows "Price on request" on product, collection and search pages.
  • Sections added by other apps (for example, upsell or recommendation widgets) may print prices themselves. Send us the page and we'll help.
  • Outside your theme, Shopify publishes prices to sales channels, feeds and its product JSON. QuoteLock hides prices in your online store theme, so see other sales channels below or turn on Price privacy.

Checkout not blocked

  • Protection off. In Settings → Checkout protection, turn on Block checkout for locked products.
  • Tag mismatch. The product must carry one of the tags listed in Settings → Lock tags.
  • Exempt customer. Signed-in customers with your exempt tag (Approvals page) check out normally by design. Test while signed out.
  • Approved on purpose. Approved quote links, approval codes and draft orders created by staff or your systems always go through.
  • Still stuck? Turn on Diagnostic mode (Settings → Advanced) to add technical details to the block message, then email us a screenshot. Turn it off afterwards.

Other sales channels

QuoteLock hides prices in your online store theme. Other sales channels and feeds (such as the Shop app, Google, social channels, marketplaces or POS) may still show Shopify prices. You have three options:

  1. Remove from other sales channels on the Products page, for the products you select.
  2. Set to Unlisted, so products stay reachable by link but stay out of listings and feeds.
  3. Turn on Price privacy (Settings → Price privacy). QuoteLock stores the real price of quote-only variants and sets their Shopify price to 0 so it isn't published anywhere. Checkout never sells these items at 0, and quotes always use the real price.

These options only change where prices appear; checkout protection stays the same.

Quote emails

  • When you approve and send a quote, Shopify emails the customer a checkout link from your store, like a draft order invoice. Ask the customer to check spam, and check your store's sender email in Shopify settings.
  • You can copy the checkout link from the quote in QuoteLock and send it yourself. Only that customer's checkout gets the locked items through.

Uninstalling

Turn Price privacy off first. If you use Price privacy, turn it off in Settings and wait for it to finish before uninstalling, so QuoteLock restores your products' real prices. After uninstalling, QuoteLock can no longer change your products.

  1. Turn off Price privacy (if it's on).
  2. Uninstall QuoteLock from your Shopify admin (Settings → Apps).
  3. Optionally remove the lock tags from your products. Draft orders QuoteLock created stay in your store.

Your QuoteLock data is deleted automatically after uninstalling, as described in the privacy policy.
